Gateway Payment Services (GPS) is a privately held corporation based in Houston, Texas and provides credit and debit card-based payment processing services to small and medium sized merchants. We also offer comprehensive electronic payroll card and loyalty card programs along with check conversion and check guarantee services.

The company was founded in January, 2005 by a group of professionals from three industries; credit card processing, investment banking and high technology. Gateway's payment processing services enable merchants across the United States to process card-present and card-not-present transactions. An example of a card-not-present transaction may occur over the Internet through the mail, fax or telephone whereas a card-present transaction is the traditional face-to face event which occurs between a consumer and merchant.

Our core processing services include the authorization of card numbers, risk assessment, fraudulent prevention, receipt and settlement of funds. We compliment these services with a full array of merchant and sales group support. Gateway's services also include data organization and retrieval, ongoing merchant assistance and resolution support in connection with disputes with cardholders. Gateway markets and sells its services primarily through independent sales organizations ("ISOs") located across the U.S.
